Nigel Dennis paddled the first kayak circumnavigation of Britain with Paul Caffyn in 1980. The 2,305 mile, 85-day journey established the template for British expedition kayaking. Dennis went on to found Nigel Dennis Kayaks (NDK), based in Wales, which has become one of the most respected sea kayak builders in the world. NDK kayaks have been used on many of the world's most ambitious sea kayak expeditions, including multiple South Atlantic and Antarctic trips. He was also part of the South Shetland expedition (2000), the Easter Island circumnavigation with Stan Chadlek (1999), and the British team that competed with Adventure Philosophy for South Georgia in 2005.
