Frank Goodman completed the first successful kayak circumnavigation of Cape Horn in 1977. He encountered 16-foot swells and 50-foot-high spray on the rounding. During the expedition he discovered Cape Horn Island's previously unrecorded lake. A foundational South American kayak expedition.
