Following Gino Watkins's 1930-31 BAARE route, Caffyn and Edwards paddled 691 miles down the SE Greenland coast - first Western completion in single kayaks since the Inuit paddlers.

In 2008 Paul Caffyn and Conrad Edwards completed a 691-mile kayak trip along the SE Greenland coast from Isortoq to Narsaq. This trip followed the 7th journey of the 1930-31 British Air Route Expedition, which expedition leader Gino Watkins made in a small boat with August Courtauld and Percy Lemon. This was the first time since the time of the Inuit paddlers that this icy journey was completed by Westerners in single kayaks.
