Solo circumnavigation of Devon and Cornwall - 413 miles in 9 days, average nearly 5 mph, 24 lighthouses seen, 36 muesli bars eaten. Raised money for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Widows and Orphan's Fund and RNLI.

In July 1997 a solo paddler completed the South West Peninsular Sea Kayak Challenge - 'Around the Sharp End' - paddling around the coast of Devon and Cornwall in 9 days, 413 miles, in a Rob Feloy-designed Inuk sea kayak (with a Voyager double used for the Scilly crossing). The trip included open-sea crossings to and from the Isles of Scilly. 84 hours of paddling, nearly 5 miles per hour average. The trip raised money for the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Widows and Orphan's Fund and the RNLI. Notable moments: a 28-mile crossing to Scilly via Longships and the Seven Stones Lightship, taking 4 hours 36 minutes; capsize on landing at Penhale; and a 64-mile day from Penhale to Hartland Quay.
