Despite being told she should give up kayaking and backpacking, she set out to circumnavigate all five of the Great Lakes within a single calendar year. Her own framing: "Ever since my diagnosis, people would tell me that I should no longer kayak or backpack or engage in..." One of the most demanding multi-lake projects ever attempted as a personal proof.
